Vice President Welfare

                         Grace Armstrong

Hi, I’m Grace your VP Welfare this upcoming year! My role is to make sure you all feel safe on and off campus, as well as helping you find and access support for any issues you might have whenever you need it.

I’m also here to speak up about things that effect your wellbeing and making sure that measures are put in place to help everyone through university. Whether you’re an undergrad, a postgrad, a disabled student, an international student, or a carer or anything else I want to make the university and union an inclusive place that can support anyone no matter what they’re going through.

I work with staff and the university to make sure measures are put in place for support and wellbeing as well as creating activities that can help students with their wellbeing such as our famous ‘Stress-busting massages’ or dogs on campus

  My work:

What I'm working on

  • Safety Campaign: A campaign to help all students feel safer no matter where they are with the help of security across all campus’. Creating information for Freshers week so new and returning students can feel safe within the city.
  • Fiction sections in the library: I’m currently working on the launch of the ‘Represented Reading, Minority is not identity’ section of the library, as well as developing the other fiction sections that are already available.
  • Student business support: I have been in talks with many people within the university and union on how we can support students looking to start their own business or already have their own

What I've got coming up

  • Animals back on campus
  • Stress busting massages making a comeback
  • DSSR and DSA Step-by-step guide
  • Preferred Pronouns on student profile to be used by staff
