Newcastle Marrow unites two universities, Northumbria University and Newcastle University, through a shared purpose. Not all those needing a stem cell transplant can find a match. Anthony Nolan’s simple aim is to change this and Newcastle Marrow works closely with the charity to do so.
We will be holding recruitment events to raise awareness and sign people up to the register. However, this costs £60 and Anthony Nolan aims to be at the forefront of transplant technology. Therefore, we will also be fundraising throughout the year.
We want to change the misconceptions people have about stem cell donation and make sure no student leaves university without hearing about Marrow and having the opportunity to become a donor.
To do this, we need you! Becoming a member of the Marrow Society is FREE and you will be able to help out at our events, support Anthony Nolan's work and help us save the lives of people living with blood disorders and cancer.
Joining is easy and can be done at Fresher’s Fair, the SU Welcome desk, or online.
