Due to the current University IT issues, we are unable to process memberships and payments in the usual way. In the meantime, you can sign-up to any society for FREE at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/nsusocietymemberships.
This gives you the chance to attend taster sessions for any of the groups which interest you. Once the membership system is working, we will inform students and set a deadline for the purchase of society memberships should you still wish to be involved and receive the benefits of membership.
Please note the Virtual Fair from Weds 23rd required you to use a gmail account to log in and see what societies and sports clubs have to offer but you can use any email account to sign up to NSU societies through our website.
Please do not purchase memberships through guest accounts or if your normal log in works [for returning students]. We cannot be certain all information will pull through our system as it normally would and this may lead to issues later in the term.
We are a student volunteering organisation who work with the Halo Project Charity. The halo project provide advice and support to victims of illegal cultural harms such as FGM, forced marriage and honour based violence. As student volunteers, we aim to raise awareness of these cultural harms and the associated problems, in the student community. Many don’t realise that it happens here in the UK - we aim to break that belief.
Volunteering with us is a commitment, you will be trained by the charity and will need to attend bi-weekly meetings on a Monday at 6pm. We also expect volunteers to participate in the planning and running of events. Events mostly require volunteers to speak to other members of the student community and educate them on these issues.
If you would like to become a volunteer, please email us or visit https://drive.google.com/file/d/1enQyW0bGLyG9dt39iWNB6biN07m3VOoE/view for more info!
