To all students arriving at Northumbria this January your Students’ Union extends a very warm welcome and we hope you have a fantastic experience studying at Northumbria. Getting the maximum benefit from your time at Northumbria depends on you embracing the wealth of opportunities available and your Students’ Union is here to help you make friends, have fun, have your voice heard and develop your skills beyond the classroom.

In helping you to settle in to life at Northumbria we are hosting a range of welcome events, all of which are available on our Social Media – get following/liking our pages on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram now to keep up to date but here is a sample of what’s coming up;

 

Friday 10th January, 14.00-16.00 in Habita (Main Bar, Ground Floor City Campus Students’ Union). Welcome Tea Party & Quiz. Come along to meet your Sabbatical Officers and fellow students whilst enjoying some typical British hospitality over tea and cake. We will have a range of information on the Students’ Union, Societies and Student services at Northumbria as well as local attractions in Newcastle.

 

Tuesday 14th January, Newcastle United versus Rochdale 19.45 Kick off at St James Park,. Your Students’ Union can offer exclusively discounted tickets at just £6.50 for Newcastle Utd’s home game in the FA Cup. Available from the SU Welcome Desk 8am-4pm

 

Thursday 16th January, 8pm-11pm in Habita. Get your singing voices at the ready for a great night of singing, dancing and laughing!

 

Friday 17th January, 13.00-16.00 Ground Floor Breakout Area, Business and Law School City Campus East, Welcome to Northumbria stalls. Welcome Talk 14.00-15.00 in CCE 001. Find out essential information about support services that are here to help whilst you are studying at Northumbria from key departments and meet your fellow students

 

Monday 27th & Tuesday 28th January, 11.00 -14:00, Welcome Fairs in Escape, 1st floor City Campus Students’ Union. Come and visit the wide range of Societies waiting to get you involved and a huge array of companies wanting to give you free stuff!

 

Monday 27th January, 19:00-20:00 in Habita– Free Food Reception. Special Free Food Reception foe newly-arrived Semester 2 students from 7pm-8pm leading into the Big Habita Quiz starting at 8pm. Come along and meet your Sabbatical team, enjoy some hospitality courtesy of the Students’ Union and find out more information on the opportunities you can get involved in whilst studying at Northumbria. Get down early though as when the food is gone, it’s gone!

 

Sunday 2nd February, 21:00-late. We are showing the SUPER BOWL LIV, THE 54th SUPER BOWL live in Habita! Tickets are £2 with a free drink, get your tickets from the Welcome Desk to guarantee entry
