We're looking for the Northumbria students who'll speak up for Northumbria as delegates at the National Union of Students Conference next March. If elected to attend, your vote will count for over 30,000 students here at Northumbria. You can influence real change within the student movement on a national level and make sure higher education works for you.
National Union of Students (NUS) Conference Delegate
The seven successful candidates to be elected will take forward issues affecting Northumbria students, propose and debate NUS policy, and vote in elections for its leadership. They play a key role in shaping the policies and campaigns of our national union, and are an important part of making sure the student voice is heard right across the country.
Conference takes place in Glasgow from Tuesday 27th to Thursday 29th March, and we support delegates with training and by covering the costs of transport, accommodation, conference registration and food.
Student Councillor (Open Place)
Our Open Place Councillors represent all Northumbria students on our Student Executive, they speak up to make sure the Students’ Union is taking action on the things that affect students and they play an important role in events such as our Go Out And Listen Days (GOAL Days).
We’re searching for a BAME Rep (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic), Disabled Students’ Rep, Gender Diversity Rep, International Students’ Rep, Mature Students’ Rep and a Women’s Rep.
Equality Reps are elected by students, and play a key role in campaigning for a better University and a fairer experience for all students.
Nominations open from 1st November to noon on 22nd November.
