Certified by Mental Health First Aid England, our Adult Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training is delivered by our Student Wellbeing and Resilience Manager who is an approved MHFA England Instructor Member.

We are pleased to offer the training via online and in person formats.

Whichever format you book, you must attend and complete all times/dates within that session in order to pass and qualify as a Mental Health First Aider.

The training is open to ALL current Northumbria Students and those who Graduated in 2020.

Normally priced at £300 per delegate, the course has been heavily subsidised by your Students’ Union giving you the chance to compete it for just £30*

Online Training

Our online MHFA training uses an online platform and blends live delivery with individual learning.

It typically takes 15hrs for a learner to complete the course. This is structured in the following way:

· Individual learning – 1hr

· Live session one – 2hrs

· Individual learning – 2hrs

· Live session two – 2hrs

· Individual learning – 2hrs

· Live session three – 2hrs

· Individual learning – 2hrs

· Live session four – 2hrs

All live sessions must be attended and all individual learning must be completed in order to pass and qualify as a Mental Health First Aider

Your training materials are provided and will be shipped directly to you so we will ask for your postal address so this can be done.

December Men’s Course: live sessions taking place 12.30-2.30pm on: Monday 7th & Tuesday 8th & Wednesday 9th & Thursday 10th December 

As part of our Men-tal Health Campaign, this session of MHFA training is open to students who identify as Male only and will be delivered by a Male instructor.

The content of the course remains the same however, there will be a focus on men’s mental health; the impact of stigma specifically on men and how men can help and support themselves and each other to improve and maintain positive mental fitness/wellbeing.

This course will take place online and will require attendance at 4x Live online session plus independent learning.
