The Student Activities Team consists of Sabbatical Officer and members of staff.
Sabbatical Officers are elected each year to lead the Students Union, to make and change policy and to be the voice of students within the Union and the University. They all act as Trustees of the SU as a Charity and work on a full time basis for one year (though they are allowed to stand for re-election but cannot serve more than two years). There are five Sabbatical Officers, all of whom work to support and represent students interests. Members of staff are appointed on a permanent basis by the Union to deliver services to students in line with the Union policy made by Sabbatical Officers. In short, staff work for the Sabbs through the Union’s line management structure.
All Officers and staff are here to help in any way we can. Generally we try to operate an open-door policy so please feel free to drop in for a chat. For more detailed and lengthy conversations, it is better to make an appointment via email or at the Welcome Desk (open 8am-8pm in term time and 8am-4pm out of term time).
Kristy Weegram, Vice President Activities
Kristy is your Vice President Activities and the lead Sabbatical Officer for RAG, Community Volunteering, Societies & Freshers Team. Kristy is elected to support volunteers within Activities and to represent your interests within the Union, University and wider community. Kristy is also the lead Officer for Coach Lane Campus and for Postgraduate student issues. She is based in the Sabb Office on the ground floor of the City Campus Students’ Union (the one with the artificial grass!). You can email her on firstname.lastname@example.org

Tally Kerr, Vice President Communications
Tally is your Vice President Communications and the lead Sabbatical Officer for student Media, engagement and ensuring the Union is communicating well with the student population. Tally is elected to support volunteers within NSU Radio, NSU TV, NSU Snaps and NSU Life and to represent your interests within the Union, University and wider community. She is based in the Sabb Office on the ground floor of the City Campus Students’ Union (the one with the artificial grass!)

Dave Jewell, Welcome Desk Manager
Dave is our Welcome Desk Manager so manages the services and staff of the Welcome Desk at City Campus. He also manages the Union’s system for Room Bookings, both within the Union and the University, so is your first port of call for booking rooms and leads on our Fast Friends programme. Dave is located in the Base Office (ground floor of the City Campus Students’ Union) and his usual hours of work are 8am-4pm. You can email Dave on email@example.com
Craig Wilson, Video Production & Student Media Coordinator
Craig is lead member of staff for all things Media working closely with Tally to support volunteers active in our TV, Radio, Photography and Magazine as well as producing video content on the Union’s behalf. Craig works between the Base Office on the ground floor and the Marketing office on the first floor at City Campus. Chrissy Watt, Student Engagement Manager (Coach Lane & London Campus)
Chrissy is our lead Manager for all things related to student engagement at our Coach Lane & London campuses; this includes support for volunteers working in student representation as well as student activities. Chrissy also acts as lead staff member to our Nightline service. Chrissy is based mainly at in the SU Office at Coach Lane campus but makes frequent trips to both City & London campuses. Kevin Edgar, Student Volunteer Coordinator
Kevin is lead Coordinator for all volunteers involved in NSU RAG, NSU Community & our Fast Friends Buddies programme. Our NSU Community programmes includes support given to Community Volunteering projects as well as the Leadership Committees of NSU RAG & NSU Community who organise our main weeks of volunteering. Kevin can also provide advice to students with general queries about volunteering and how you can involved. Lauren Marriott, Societies Coordinator
Lauren is one half of ‘Team Societies’ and works closely with Emily Carling to provide support to all those involved in Union Societies. Lauren specifically supports the Committees of our Recreational Sport, International/Cultural, Political, Faith & Belief & Performance Societies. Emily Carling, Societies Coordinator
Emily is the other half of ‘Team Societies’ and works closely with Lauren Marriott to provide support to all those involved in Union Societies. Emily specifically supports the Committees of our Academic, Special Interest & Professional Development Societies. This includes providing support to Societies based at Coach Lane (where she works from every Monday) and City Campus East where she does regular drop-in sessions. Emily can be found in ‘Societies Corner’ in the Base Office (ground floor of the City Campus Students Union) and her usual working hours are 9.30am-5.30pm. Paddy Rathbone, Student Activities Manager
Paddy is our Student Activities Manager so manages the services, staff and budget of the Student Activities department. This includes Societies, RAG, Community Volunteering, NSU Media, Fast Friends Buddies and all Welcome activity for newly arrived students.
