Despite all the craziness we're making this years YogaSoc bigger and better in every way - new Yoga classes, meditation sessions, collaborating with new teachers (City and Coach Lane Campuses), class rewards scheme - and of course amazing socials, fundraisers, Yoga dance parties, prize give aways, competitions, Aerial Yoga and more.
But we need... YOU! What do you want? YogaSoc is historically one of the bigger societies so we get a lot of clout - do you want to do a Yoga trip to India? Have another Society/interest that could do a crossover episode? We also need members to help out and be part of the team - a great introduction for anyone wanting to add a Society role to their CV and perfect preparation for getting votes for an elected position!
Yoga is a million different things, but Yoga is for every body. Whether you like a gentle stretch or a physcial challenge, the calming effects of mindfulness or the natural high of meditation Yoga has something for everyone - and we love welcoming newcomers into our family!
Northumbria Yoga Society plans to run 4 regular sessions a week across both Coach Lane and City Campus, for all abilities.
Tuesdays | STAGE 2, City Campus | Conrad | 6:00 – 7:15pm
Wednesdays | STAGE 2, City Campus | Various Yoga Teachers | 2:00 - 4:00pm
Fridays | STAGE 2, City Campus |Vicky | 5:00 – 6:00 pm
Sundays | NORTHERN POLE DANCE, Newcastle city centre | Sisi | 1pm – 2pm
Due to the current events we need to maintain social distancing and as such will be running a booking system through our Facebook page - sign up now so you can get in on the free taster sessions!
Membership is £3 which you can pay at the welcome desk or at the side of this page. Regular sessions are £2 for members and £3 for non-members which you pay to a committee member at each session via contactless payment (no cash can be taken).
> Vicky teaches our Hatha sessions every Friday. This is the standard type of yoga which is relaxing but also builds core strength.
> Conrad is a Forest, mindful and yin instructor which is usually a fun but harder session complete with partner work.
