About Us

Do you want to:

  • Learn more about the importance of mental wellbeing and destigmatise mental illness?
  • Get involved in fundraising and campaigns promoting positive mental wellbeing?
  • Access useful information and wellbeing services?
  • Meet some likeminded people and be part of an ambitious society?

We all have mental health that needs looking after and mental health issues can affect us all. So whether you have been affected personally or you just want to learn more, we're here to provide a support network to make the most of your university experience and encourage conversation surrounding mental health.

We will be providing brilliant opportunities such as ‘Mental Health Mondays’ where you will always have committee members available to support your mental wellbeing, as well as workshops, guest speakers, awareness events and a range of socials to bring the society to life.

If you have any questions please contact: su.mhasoc@northumbria.ac.uk, a committee member, or visit our Facebook page for regular updates.

Membership is £3 and runs from 1st August to 31st July each year. Joining is easy and can be done at Fresher’s Fair, the SU Welcome Desk, or online. Membership gives you access to society votes, the ability to run for committee positions and exclusive events and discounts available to members only. The bigger the society grows, the more we can offer, so join us for a brilliant year!
