Remember arriving at university on that first day, with a mixture of nerves and excitement?

Help us give new students a big welcome to Northumbria, by volunteering as part of our Freshers Team 2018! You could be the first friendly face new students get to greet as they arrive at halls or on campus.

What duties does this role include?

Duties undertaken by Freshers Team include helping new students move into their accommodation, promoting the services and opportunities provided by the Students Union and helping drive sales of the Freshers Week wristband, helping with the set up and pack down of events throughout the week, escorting students on various trips and activities throughout the week, night duty where you will be generally looking out for the welfare of new students, helping them have a good time and assisting with any stewarding duties for events.

What's in it for me?

First of all, all volunteers will get a FREE Freshers Week wristband getting you access to all of our events (volunteers need to let their hair down too!) You'll also get a Freshers Team volunteer t-shirt and we'll provide you with food and refreshments whilst you're on shift. Plus, it looks great on your CV and you'll make tonnes of new friends.

How do I sign-up?

What are you waiting for! If you want to have one of the best weeks of your university life, you can SIGN-UP HERE or if you have any further queries, email us at su.activities@northumbria.ac.uk. All current Northumbria students are welcome so feel free to bring friends along!

Freshers Team Training will take place from 10am-4pm on Wednesday 19th September in Domain (1st floor, Students' Union).
