Provides patients with creative and enjoyable workshops to help improve their hospital experience
The Hospital Arts project, which is based at North Tyneside General Hospital, provides patients with creative and enjoyable workshops to help improve their experience in hospital. This is a great opportunity to gain professional experience. So if you’re interested in benefitting the lives of others through music, dance, arts and crafts - Hospital Arts is the project for you.
As a Hospital Arts volunteer, you will deliver therapeutic arts and crafts sessions for patients with dementia in partnership with Northumbria Tyne and Wear Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. This project is led by a student committee who liaise with staff at the hospital and work with you to plan creative workshops. You will improve the patient experience and develop an understanding of the healthcare sector while gaining experience working within a highly regulated environment. These sessions will take place on a regular basis. The Project Leader - Sarah Hodgson - will communicate specific dates, times and other information to all project volunteers.
