NSU is a democratic, student-led organisation. Every year we elect the students who lead us, and all registered Northumbria students are eligible to stand for one of our leadership roles and to vote in the elections.
Our elected opportunities provide students with a chance to make a difference to their Union and University, and to stand up for students at Northumbria. They also give incredible leadership experience and skills to boost your future career.
In the autumn we elect a number of Equality Representative roles for the current academic year, as well as the students who will speak up for Northumbria at the National Union of Students’ conference from Tuesday 27th to Thursday 29th March 2018.
Early in the new year we elect our leadership team for the following year – the paid sabbatical officers who are the main representatives of students and trustees of the Union, as well as the student councillors and equality reps who volunteer to make sure the Union is making a positive impact on the lives of all its students.
These pages contain information on our elections process and we hope they are helpful to you. We’d also love to hear from you if you might be interested in leading the Students’ Union. These are amazing opportunities and you can always come to see us about them in the Students’ Union on any Northumbria campus, or by emailing any questions to email@example.com.
